The ongoing commitment at Automotive Insulations to staff training and development was recognised at a prestigious national awards ceremony last month when the company received a ‘Highly Commended’ accolade from amongst hundreds of entries.

AI made the finals of the Semta Skills Awards in London which celebrate training and skills development initiatives throughout STEM industries. The company was nominated in the SME Investment in Skills category which is open to manufacturing and engineering businesses that employ up to 250 people.

“The quality of the entries this year was extraordinary and all of our finalists and winners are truly inspirational,” comments Ann Watson, Chief Executive of Semta. “We received hundreds of entries into the awards and to be selected as one of the final 27 is an amazing achievement.”

Four members of AI’s training team travelled down to London to represent the company.  Talent Manager Cheryl Bradbury, apprentice Reece Vann, Training Co-ordinator Elisia Faria and Operations Director (UK) Paul Walker all enjoyed the evening.

Talent Manager Cheryl comments: “We were delighted to make the final against some tough opposition. Training and skills development is very highly valued at Automotive Insulations and across the whole Autins Group. It’s great to see that commitment recognised by a respected industry body and to be highly commended for what we do here.”

Judged by a panel of industry experts, the awards were hosted by BBC Breakfast business presenter Steph McGovern and took place at the Park Lane Hilton Hotel.
